WHY REMOTE PERSONAL COACHING?

by Marika, FUELhouse Remote Coaching Client

When the lockdown began, I knew a priority for me would be to maintain my consistency in my work out for my mental health. At the same time, life was really chaotic, my kids and husband were suddenly home and I didn't know what my routine would look like. I needed flexibility. I also invested in a good amount of equipment for my home gym and I wanted to use it. I needed a tailored program for it.

My Coach created a program that is easy to follow and that progresses logically. It has worked. It's crazy how good it has worked.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

My main goal has been to hit 10 pull ups. I'm about a cm from 9. I started with 3.

20 kg simple and sinister. yes I did that.

20 kg x 2 unbroken get ups - what?

32 kg kettlebell swings.

My core is ridiculously strong and I thought it was pretty strong before.

Headstands - because why not? I can hang out in them for a good long 10 breaths or more these days.

BREAKTHROUGHS

Slow, steady, consistent, targeted progression has created incredible progress. I'm literally beyond what I thought was possible. Because I'm at home, I'm able to savor my workouts more. I can hang out as I warm down and really enjoy the progress. I try to take time to do this more because it is so gratifying to just feel good and celebrate my journey. Before, I was running around so much, I didn't give myself a lot of credit for what I have a achieved. I can do that now. This has been transformational for me.

ADVICE

If you are just starting out be kind to yourself and celebrate every step you make in your health and fitness. Progress, not perfection. Surround yourself with good people. Reward yourself for every milestone - even the smallest one. Fitness is always a journey, not a destination. Enjoy it.
