This is our accelerated solution to building muscle, losing fat, and gaining strength and the perfect blend of strength and conditioning for all individuals—regardless of background, profession, gender, or size.

This cycle is open to all FH members as well as Non-Members of FH.

If you're a member of FUELhouse you either know all about it or can't stop hearing our coaches talk about the StrongFirst Tactical Strength Challenge. This might be, hands down, our favorite event/Holiday of the year to host in October. It's too hard to put into words all the amazing things that happen around training for the TSC and the magic that happens on the actual day. Squads are for all levels (we love training beginners for the TSC;). Honestly, every human should experience at least one TSC event in their life at FUELhouse. So here is everything you need to know…

WHAT ARE YOU TRAINING FOR?

The old saying goes, “If you don’t know where you’re going, any road will get you there.” Training is no different. If you lack a specific goal, the time you spend training may easily become a collection of random acts. The StrongFirst Tactical Strength Challenge is a goal worthy of your efforts.

Held every October at FUELhouse—the Tactical Strength Challenge is comprised of three exercises:

  1. A max powerlifting deadlift (three attempts)

  2. Pull ups for max reps (palms forward, no kipping, chin must clear the bar) or a flexed arm hang

  3. Kettlebell snatches or Single Arm Swings for max reps in a 5:00 time period (unlimited hand switches and different weights for different competitor categories).

Preparing requires your focus on different types of strength and endurance—as demanded by real life’s challenges and we’re here to support you every step of the way.

GOAL:

To build muscle, lose fat and gain strength. This is an opportunity to spend 7 weeks honing your technique and increasing your capacity at the most fundamental strength movements: Deadlift, Pullups and KB Snatches. This small group format offers one-on-one guidance, great camaraderie, and a simple roster of movements allowing you time to correct errors and challenge your limits. Whether you are brand-new to lifting, someone with experience who has struggled to surpass a plateau, or just looking to try something different, by taking the time to focus exclusively on the lifts that support almost every other activity you do inside (and outside) the gym, you will gain confidence and enhance your performance. This program falls at the perfect time if you plan to participate in this October’s StrongFirst Tactical Strength Challenge on Oct 30th at FUELhouse.

HOW:

During our time together, we will focus on increasing the weight we lift as well as our endurance over a 7-week period. This progressive plan will trigger your body to get stronger and build muscle. It’s the simplest and most effective way to get results.

WHAT COMES WITH BEING A PART OF A SQUAD:

  • Personalized programming – each training session with your Squad will be individualized with a specific goal for YOU based on your benchmark strength (we’re testing everyone's benchmarks for the DL, PU/Flexed Arm Hang/Snatches or Single Arm Swings on Sept 8).

  • You’ll train 2x/week with your Squad following a specific protocol at FUELhouse.

  • Personal TrueCoach Account to track your progress

  • Everyone will have access to our Open Gym for accessory work/make up days.Open Gym hours are open to Specialty Groups and Individualized coaching clients only. Open gym times are:

    • M/W/F from 3-4pm

    • Saturdays from 11:15-12:15pm

  • You will be given a plan to follow for "off days' if you belong to another gym or have access to other equipment/home gym offsite.

  • Guidance and weekly check-in’s with your Coach so you get the support to actually be proud of your choice to take this step and hopefully many more after this!

  • Access to all FUELhouse virtual group classes and clinics, including Yoga!

  • Group Health Coaching session led by Coach Molly to give you the individualized tools and tips on how to accelerate your results through SMART nutrition!

WHO:

YOU! Seriously, we want to see YOU make up one of our Squads if you are ready to get strong, lean, build muscle and prepare with a likeminded team. Registration is capped to provide lots of movement feedback and individualized programming from your coach and to foster great camaraderie with your fellow lifters. Prior fitness experience IS required (a min of 1 month experience with BB and KB lifts) and a desire to get stronger! Whether you are newer to lifting, someone with experience who has struggled to surpass a plateau, or just looking to try something different, this class is right for you!

WHEN:

  • Wednesday, September 8: Informational meeting @ 4:45pm on ZOOM

  • Monday, September 13th: kicks off first week of Squad training (see SQUAD groups below)

SQUAD DAYS & TIMES:

You must commit to one Squad.  We will allow for 1-2 makeup sessions where you will be allowed to attend a different Squad time/day but we require that you stick to the same days/times for consistency and logistical needs.

Squads start on Sept 13th and run for 7 weeks to Oct 30th TSC

INVESTMENT TO JOIN A SQUAD: $557/person

PREREQUISITES:

You must be injury free at the very least and/or currently cleared for heavy lifting.
