March 2025 Members of the Month: Taylor Shea + Jeff Walton

It is our pleasure to introduce you to our members of the month: Taylor Shea & Jeff Walton! Taylor and Jeff started partner training with Coach Kathryn in August 2024 and have been making great strides in their training ever since. The energy and joy they bring to their sessions are infectious!

It’s been such a delight to watch these two make some serious progress in their short time with us so far. We can’t wait to see what else they can accomplish!

Where can you be found outside of the gym? What do you do for a living?

Taylor: I am a recruiter for a lung cancer diagnostic company. If I’m not working I’m probably on the couch with the dogs reading a book or baking

Jeff: I am a consultant in the bitcoin space. Outside of work I love taking the dogs on adventures

What are your hobbies?

Taylor: baking, reading, walking

Jeff: golfing, flying fishing, gardening

What brought you to FH in the first place?

We wanted to do something fun together that would challenge us and improve our day to day lives.

 

How are we so lucky you picked us (what are your favorite things about FH)?

Oh man. So many things. The inspiring and real atmosphere. We love that there aren’t a bunch of mirrors every where while you workout, it allows you to be present with yourself and your workout without outside distractions. Coach K who has become a huge part of not only our physical but mental health.

Taylor: When we first joined fuel house I was struggling with my mental health and Fuel / Coach K were a huge part of me getting back to a good place. Everyone is kind, friendly and energized which is contagious.

 

What sports or fitness things did you do before FH?

Taylor: yoga, Peloton

Jeff: Biking

 

What programs are you currently involved in at FH and why? 

Couples personal training to work on building a strong strength foundation

 

What goals are you working towards and/or what’s on your FH bucket list of things you’d like to accomplish?

Taylor: improve my kettle bell swings and have more confidence in my lifts and my strength

Jeff: hit my goals really far and a 32kg get up

 

What makes you commit to training even on days you don't feel like it? 

Knowing we get to hangout with Coach K for an hour and that we never regret a workout once it’s done. The days you don’t want to go are the days you probably need to go the most.

 

What's your favorite movement/exercise?

Taylor: deadlift

Jeff: Get Up

 

What have been your “bright spots” (PRs or accomplishments are you most proud of)?  

Taylor: significantly less back pain and side planks suck less 😂

Jeff: doubling my squat max

 

How have these accomplishments affected your life?

Significantly less back pain and side planks suck less 😂

What is on your general bucket list for life?

Be happy and healthy while doing whatever sounds fulfilling and fun.

Tell us a little known fact about yourself or what’s something most people don’t know about you?

Taylor: I read any where from 40 - 50 books a year

 

What was your first impression of FH?  How has that changed?

The inspiring and real atmosphere. Coaches who care about members and want to create the best community possible - nothing has changed, only been proven to be correct

What advice do you have for new (or experienced!) friends trying out FH?

Prioritizing your health and investing in yourself is always worth it and you deserve to have fun while you do it!
