About your Coach

Jeremy is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, Certified Athletic Trainer, Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist, and Level 1 USA Weightlifting Coach. Jeremy has over a decade of combined clinical experience in sports medicine as both a Doctor of Physical Therapy and Certified Athletic Trainer. His clinical experience in treating athletes at the D1 collegiate, professional, and recreational levels combined with his strength & conditioning background as a CSCS and Level 1 USA Weightlifting Coach allow Jeremy to provide instruction and programming from the standpoint of a performance specialist. He’s on a mission to help show everyone who chooses to work with him that they are robust, adaptable, and resilient human beings. He believes that if you have a body, then you’re an athlete. What better way to express your athleticism by learning how to move weights quickly?

When not lifting weights or helping guide athletes through his practice Fortitude Movement & Strength, you can find Jeremy spending time with his wife Jenelle and rescued greyhound Freddie, fly fishing, and smoking briskets.

FAQ’s

  1. When does it start and when are classes?

March 1st, 2022. Classes will be held at 6:30pm on T/Th.

  2. What time is open gym offered?

    M/W/F from 3-4:30pm and Saturdays at 11:15a-12:45p.

  3. What equipment do I need?

If you’re going to dedicate time and effort to learning weightlifting, I highly recommend having a pair of weightlifting shoes for 3 reasons. (1)The soles of weightlifting shoes are solid, and don’t have any give. This allows maximum transfer of force from your legs into the ground. (2)The shape and edge of most lifting shoes creates a wide, stable base of support. (3)The raised heel of lifting shoes adds to your existing ankle dorsiflexion range of motion. This puts your torso in a more upright position for receiving snatches and cleans. No, lifting shoes aren’t “cheating,” nor do they decrease your ankle mobility. Weightlifting shoes don’t restrict movement of the ankle. They just add to what dorsiflexion you already have. If you don’t have lifting shoes, or aren’t in a position to buy a pair, then firm-soled training shoes will work. Please no soft, squishy running shoes for safety reasons.

  4. Do I need to lift a certain amount of weight before joining this small group?

No! There’s no prerequisite amount of strength to be able to learn the fundamental techniques of weightlifting. We’ll be doing a decent amount of technique work with PVC pipes, training bars, and empty bars to begin with.

  5. If I am a group class member at FH, do I pay for both my group classes plus this program?

We gots options! If you would like to access group classes while participating in our weightlifting camp, we will discount your group class membership for March and April. The cost to access classes will be $97+tax/month during your program. If you would like to put your group class membership on hold during your weightlifting program we can do that too!

  6. Do I have to be a member of FH to participate in this program?

Heck no! We love it when we have new friends in the HOUSE! Let’s do this!

Sexy Logistics

Please read these frequently asked questions about your Weightlifting journey and acknowledge you understand each policy before registering.

What happens if I need to drop out?

Your first payment is a processing fee due at registration and is always nonrefundable and non-transferable. The second payment is due two weeks before classes begin and the third payment is due on the first day of the program. Refunds of the second and third payments are available if a request to cancel is submitted before the payments are processed due to injury or significant life event. In the case of injury, a doctor's note is requested.

Can I switch to Private Personal Training?

Dzuh. Life happens! As a Camp participant, you are able to switch from your primary group to 1:1 Personal Training if you’re finding that you would prefer private coaching. That said, switches are always subject to availability of the FH Coach. You will be responsible for paying the balance to transfer to Personal Training.

What if I have to miss class?

If you need to miss a class, we ask that you cancel yourself before the class starts. We are offering “Open Gym” hours for participants to come in and conduct their 3rd training session and any make up sessions.

Your Weightlifting journey actually begins a couple days before classes start with Jeremy’s Meet & Greet Workshop. In addition to your two in-person training sessions per week, we recommend planning for training during open gym and nailing your nutrition with weekly coach check-ins. This is a personal investment in your mental and physical health and is a non-refundable and non-transferable program.
