AUGUST NEWS!

Hello !

August is here and I'm loving this season of foods growing all around us. Blackberries, blueberries, corn, all the stone fruit (peaches in particular ), peppers and tomatoes. I'm also loving the hinge this human displays in this GIF. They're truly displaying the "shut the car door with your butt" visual we use when talking about the hinge with our members. I've watched it 150 times and I'm not tired of it yet

For some, this time of year brings a similar feeling of the Sunday scary's with the "end of summer" around the corner. For me, the next few months are my absolute favorite time of year in the PNW. August brings Seafair festivities with the Blue Angels and hydroplane races. September brings my favorite weather and holiday (Labor Day). October continues with my favorite PNW weather, and another fave holiday, Halloween (love any reason to put on a costume). I know you're not here to read about my fave weather, you're here for a history lesson on Seafair. You got it friend...

Since 1950, Seattleites have been gathering for Seafair festivities, and it's grown immensely since that first year. According to Seafair.org, "it all began as a plan to celebrate Seattle’s centennial in 1951. The Seattle area was without major league sports teams or the Seattle Center. Thirsty for national recognition and attention, Seafair was designed to attract tourists and showcase marine events in keeping with Seattle’s boast as the boating capital of the world.” To do this, business leaders recruited St. Paul, Minnesota’s Winter Carnival director Walter Van Camp to help produce a similar summertime event for Seattle. Van Camp couldn't wait until 1951, so he went to work in March 1950 planning a ten-day celebration for August, 1950. "This included building the 5,500 seat Aqua Theater at Green Lake in a mere 75 days."

"The first Seafair featured parades, boat races on Green Lake, amateur athletic events, royalty, and a number of community festivals. Seafair was deemed a success and the festival would grow the next summer with the addition of unlimited hydroplane racing’s Gold Cup race on Lake Washington." The next time you walk past the Aqua Theater on Green Lake or see the Blue Angels fly through the sky, you can thank Walter Van Camp PS don't come at me with the bridge closures this weekend, I know it's a pain in the butt, but it's Seafair baby!

Right now is an opportunity for you to become unstoppable.  Right now, right here could be the moment you start taking radical ownership for your outcomes. The question is, will you seize it?

The secret to success isn’t found in drastic, one-time changes. It lies in your everyday habits, those minute-to-minute decisions that, over time, create a powerful momentum toward your goals. If you truly want to harness the remainder of 2023, there are daily practices you need to adopt.

Meet August's Epic Member of the month:

Thomas Burnstead!!!

Thomas has been with FUELhouse since 2019 and has dabbled in it all! Personal training, partner training, small group and group classes, oh my! Thomas is the definition of “consistency is key” — he puts in the work and the results show it. To add the cherry on top, he’s truly a really nice and funny human You’ll see below that coaches had a hard time keeping it short when asked to say something nice about him

Check out what some of the coaches had to say about him (more on our blog)….

“Where do I even begin with Thomas??!! He is hands down the best and most sought after kind of client. He not only brings his A game to every session to train, he takes an active role in creating and achieving his goals by researching and learning himself. Not only does he challenge himself but also pushes me as a coach to figure out how to get him where he wants to go. There is no goal he hasn’t surpassed because of his efforts. He is WAY stronger than he thinks and he is really tapping into that. Bonus: pretty fun to spend an hour with as well :)" - Coach Kari

“I’ve had the honor of watching Thomas ring that PR bell many times. He has great taste in music and great taste is trainers ! Kari and Thomas are a great team.” - Coach Dre

My wife told me to take the spider out instead of killing it.

So I did. We had a few drinks, pretty cool guy,

said he works in web design.

I got a hospitalized due to a peekaboo incident.

They put me in the ICU.
